My Cautionary Tale: Trapped in a Customer Service Black Hole 🕳️
I’m sharing this experience as a cautionary tale. I ordered two pairs of glasses, and it took a full month for the company to even inform me one pair was out of stock. My frustration boiled over because it's impossible to talk to a person. Customer service is a joke, you just go round and round with the computer. They were happy to take my money but service has been a joke. I get an email everyday for sales but can't talk to anyone about my order. This is why I finally decided I had to get a hold of someone, anyone, to sort this mess out.
Customer: Finally, a real person. I've been trying to get through for ages. It took you a month to tell me my glasses are out of stock. Why?
CS Rep: I'm so sorry to hear about the extreme delay and your difficulty reaching us. I completely understand your frustration. Could you please provide your order number so I can look into this for you?
Customer: It’s [Order Number]. While you look that up, can you explain why I get daily marketing emails, but zero communication about a product I already paid for?
CS Rep: Thank you, I have your order. There is no excuse for that delay in communication, and I sincerely apologize. It’s an issue with our inventory alert system that we are working to fix. I can help you find a replacement pair now or process an immediate refund.
Customer: I already ordered a replacement. My point is the service is a joke. Your automated system is designed to keep customers away from real help.
CS Rep: I understand, and I will be escalating your feedback about the automated system directly to my manager. The experience you had is unacceptable, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention so we can improve.
The reason I left this review on the website is to hopefully prevent others from falling into the same trap.
